Hey folks, thought I ought to introduce myself here. I came from the sister site to this one, the Gardening Forums. Recently got into aquaponics and want to try my own build soon.
Little about myself: I live in the frozen arctic wasteland of Canada (Got snow last week), 16 years old, and I love learning. I have a few hobbies, I used to pull lawn mower engines apart for fun, even got them back together sometimes. Recently got into gardening, I have 2 aloe vera plants, a lucky bamboo, and some sort of real funny looking cactus. Coral cactus I think it is. My real passion is aviation though, I live and breathe it. I was going to get my pilot license this summer but through a series of events Im helping family this summer, instead.

Thanks. Your pond sounds cool. Do you have any pics? I am enjoying the knowledge of the pond gurus. I love searching the older posts for pond info. I have found little pond snails on the rocks of the pond yesterday. Guess I'll be going on a snail hunt!

No pond, Im afraid. Not quite brave enough to try something like keeping fish in a pond in Alberta. Not enough room, either. Would love a pond though.

Belmont, you can have a pond with no fish. That's what I originally started with and wanted. It's much easier to maintain and build too if yo aren't adding fish.
