Hello from VA

Hello all,

I have always owned fish tanks, but never an actual pond. I recently purchased a house with a small (350-400 gal.) koi pond. I have (2) koi and (2) fantails that are 5 years old. I'll be asking a lot of questions because I'm not familiar with koi pond maintenance.

welcome I live in Pittsylvania county .Oh believe me once you have a pond you will get addicted to it especially when summer comes and you get to feed them and watch all the funny things they do to get your attention .Mine will rip a slice of watermellon apart in minutes and fight over it .They also love lettuce and will eat it and play with the leaves as they float around .It is better than tv and funnier too .

Hi gdal, WELCOME!!!! It is going to be hard to keep up with the maintenance of the pond that size with koi in it. You are probably going to have to oversize the filter and pump and do frequent water changes as your fish get bigger.
