We just put in a 900 gallon pond. We are currently installing a waterfall. I'm not sure what to use for filter material. We are using a recycle bin for the waterfall. Any suggestions please.

Welcome to the forum. There are some pretty good threads on this subject. Some of the material people use are scrubbies, plastic fencing that you find at Home depot it is 3 feet tall you cut it in half there are instructions on the doc bio filter I believe. Some people use lava rock also.

Here are the links

Glad you joined! We will all love to help you with our boundless opinions! lol

Do you want your waterfall to be the filter? how are feeding in the water from the bottom or from the top. If it is going to be your filter are you putting in a bottom drain in the recycle bin.

Start a thread in the construction area, of any questions and issues you have.
