what's the best medication to use
First we need your guy to take a scrape to see what they have only then can we give them the correct treatment , this is why it is a good idea to learn to do this for yourself . you have wa microscope coming dont you I hink you said you ordered one .
Pleae read the following threads listed bellow they will go a long way to helping you :-

Ok dependant on what your fish have when and if your pond guy does a scrape or your microscope arrives and you do it following the instructions I have put on this thread you can use the followng :-
" TREATMENTS"
Formadehyde will treat White Spot, Trichodena ,Costia and Chilodenella
Malachite will treat Fungus caused by Saprolegina and Protozaon parasites in koi and other pond fish, which you can use at the same time as the Formadehyde delivering a killer punch to parasites you treat twice on after the other with a small water change in between of say 20%
Acriflavin which is a good pond antiseptic which willtreat conditions caused by Bacteria such as fin and tail rot as well as ulcers in koi and pond fish .
Or use a good off the shelf anti bacteial treatment if you cannot get acriflavin over your side of the pond......
"DOSE RATES"
The dose rates for Formaldehyde are 10ml will treat 682 litres = 150 imperial gallons , 180 US Gallons
The dose rate for Malachite are 10ml will treat 800 litres = 178 imperial gallons , 220 US Gallons Use Half Dose with Formaldehyde
The dose rate for Acriflvin 10ml will treat 365 litres = 80 imperial gallons (no US dose rate) hence my suggestion of a good off the shelf anti bacterial treatment
Remember you cannot treat your fish until you know what you are treating
"WARNINGS"
Warning with Malachite if your Ph is that of 8.5 and salt is in your system it can become toxic
Wear gloves when handling these treatments .

Thanks you very much
this proform-c is formaldehde and malachite mixed together that is was I treated with for three days in a smaller pond due to how much you use. Its 3.5 oz (100ml) to 1,000 gallons and he only had enough for smaller area. This guy usually don't sell this in the store he gave me what he had. no dead fish today.

The first one is white spot the workings out are in both Imperial gallons and US gallons Brenda so its up to you to do the math the formula for it is printed in my post,
You need to treat the entire pond three times once every five days back to back this will kill both adult and juvenilles on the first treatment leaving the eggs to hatch out, hit the pond again knocking out the Juvenilles that have hatced out and lastly a third time to make sure

You have plenty of time Brenda but we have to get it cycled first , make me a promise though no more new koi in the pond than what you are left with, and also tell the friends you say are stocked to the same levels as your own to loose some fish before a disaster like your own happens .
Buy in a few of the koi health books, learn to read your koi, test on a regular basis along with good husbandry practice and you shouldnt have any more problems.
Lastly thank you for not taking things to heart and going on the defensive as some folk do, as it helps ourselves and other keeper's to help you :kiss:

It could be one of many things Brenda a chemical reaction a biological one anythng from algae to Aliens lol but I think its served in throwing us all off the mark in that your fish have a problem .
Have you been able to arrange that scrape yet and if so what were the results ?
