Hello all
One of my sliders got out and is in the dirt digging away,
I am thinking she wants to lay eggs or maybe she just is doing a instinct thing.

Questions
Is there anything I can do
How long dos this take (I can not leave her out all night)
Can I build a box with sand or something for her will she do her nest in there, If I build something for her do's she have to have water or sprayed lightly or something.
Not sure how long they can be out of water.

If she do's lay eggs what do I do then
I have dogs and surly they will dig them up ?

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks Ruben

Hi
Well yesterday she dug and dug until dusk then she went back to the pond.
Today I got home from work and there was 1 egg on the landing in the pond but it got crushed open so I got it out.
I looked around the best I could did not see more. She was still in the pond.
And she ate a little this evening.
I am trying to think of a way to make her a spot off the pond that is dirt and is fenced off that way she is safe.

Been searching the web for info and ideas on what to do for her.

It could take her five to seven days just to lay her eggs and then another 60 or so for them to hatch.

Tomorrow before I leave I will take her out put her at the spot she was digging and my wife and keep a eye on her well I am off to work.
