The motion detector on my live camera caught this heron stalking my koi pond. Luckily my scare crow sprinkler scare her off.

Ugh, I hate them! I hope he didn't get anything. Exactly why I keep wire covers on my pond.

You just need some Daisys around. Rifle or pistol, it doesn't matter. They will remember a little sting and wont come back. :(

LOL, daisy didn't cut it for me, It just kept coming back. Buckshot and complete wire cover worked rather well though!

I have a heron problem too. At the moment, my preferred measure is some sort of aerial arrangement of fishing line or the like suspended about 15 feet above the pond (from the several trees around the pond). I want to use clear fishing line so it will be less visible. I'm wondering if there are any large mesh nets (which won't catch leaves) on the market that will serve the purpose. Does anyone know of anything like that?

Thanks, Guy. I suspect a luggage net would work. But it would also look pretty unsightly. I'm hoping to find something more along the lines of a non-colored monofilament net, which would be more invisible.

What about a large fishing net of some sort. Not sure if it would let the leaves through though. I am sure they come in white or clear might be worth a look.

So far, I've only been able to find small mesh nets - e.g., 5/8". Ideally, I'd like to find a 4-inch mesh net.

Alternatively, I'm thinking I'll just have to run several overhead strands of fishing line in a cris-cros fashion.
