And I'm rebuilding the whole thing. I'll eventually start to post but the pond system overhaul is occupying so much of my time. We bought a place with a pond in 2021. I had never had a pond before and was pretty pessimistic about the idea of having one, so I was convinced we would fill it in and move on. I grew up with parents who are builders though, so I have an almost instinctual desire to identify problems with houses (or yards?) and fix them. And so it began.
Years on, I now know all of the mistakes that the original builders made, and I have taken it upon myself to build a new system that fixes all of those mistakes. There will be a whole thread about that one day, but for now I'm just lurking.

Good for you to tackle the situation. I jumped in with both feet two. Though I did not have anything yo work with other than videos and determination. I didn't exactly go small, hearing people usually have three ponds each bigger than the last.

Look at my show case tons of lessons learned in there that may help you out. Think link is below

Hello and welcome! We have several members from the PNW! Beautiful area!

Since this is a learning and sharing forum, I would be interested to know the things that were done wrong/or could have been done different with the original pond. Please post some pics before you start the rebuild!

Hey! I posted a new thread with details about the pond rebuild, which I'll update as time, weather, energy, etc. allows.
