hi all i just got my frish koi fish yesterday and iam a new koi owner i have no idea what to do

new koi owner here any help would be helpful with this new fish i got thanks and i also own a 7 year old shubunkin fish that has out lived 100 gold fish 3 snails and 2 bottem feeder and his own mate that he lost

That shubbie must be pretty big. Love those fish and just put 6 in my pond this summer. Can't wait till they get larger and spawn. If you have any questions go to the appropriate posting forum and ask away. We will gladly try to help you out.

right i have both in 100 gallion tank indoors until we can get the pond up next year it is it ok to keep both in 100 tank for the winter

shubunkin fish is 7 inchs long and out grown 3 tanks so far a 5 gal 10 gal 20 gal he is in 100 gal tank as well as his new tank mate the koi

How big is your Koi and do you have any other fish besides your shubunkin in there with the koi? Unless you have a lot of fish or your koi are huge this should be fine.

jsut the shubunkin and the koi is under one inch maybe got it from walmart so iam pettye sure it might make it or not there is a 50 50 there i will let u all know in by the end of the month if it lives u know walmart fish thing one in 50 they sell might make it i will keep u all posted on it

welcome aboard John, you should be fine, i have a friend that is housing 4 6'-7" butterfly koi in a 75 gallon aquarium while he builds his new pond. they have been in there all summer since he moved and seem to be doing very well. he does do 20% water changes weekly and checks his water tow to three times a week, and feeds very lightly but they seem healthy and growing so I think two fish in a 100 gallon should be fine as long as you do your water tests and maintain the aquarium just as you would a pond.

well i just lost my koi the other day guys sorry to say that so now its back to the drawing broad i have to say study up on it a bit more until next spring lol
