my small pond is 24" deep and I wonder fi I can root the parrot feather into a pot on the bottom?

Easily. I have some at ~4-5 feet and I think they reach the surface in a few weeks. They do as well underwater as above, assuming the water is clear enough they get sunshine.

The deeper they are planted the slower the growth. They will come up and grow from deep, but to get the best and fastest growth plant a rooted end along the edge near moving water, I have some planted both ways, the ones nearer the stream grow 4-6 inches a day. yes I have to trim them about every two days to keep my stream free flowing, the ones I have planted in pots in down in the pond, I've never had to trim and they have been there since last fall, growing good and look fine but nowhere near the growth of the ones that are just anchored by rocks in the stream
