I was thinking of buy some H2O2 from the store and submerging it in it in hopes I can kill it. Any quicker better ideas?

Me too. I dunk it in a 5 gallon container of dechlorinated water so I'm not throwing chlorine in my pond even in small amounts and I scrub it with a stiff bristle brush. It's funny the thing that come out of the pumps if it they a pre-filter. Once I saw a baby fish wih wings in the bucket I was cleaning it in. Turns out it was a baby dragonfly!
