I am interested in making a plant bog and should you have more than one? I am planning on a 24' round pond, What do I need to make one (plant bog) and I am also in central Florida what type of plants? Would you suggest any other type of filtering? My pond will have Koi in it.

I filter my goldfish, shubunkin ponds with one big bog. The plants behind the pond are all in the bog. I have just one bog, do have plants in the stream ponds, not in pea gravel though.

I just love how well it keeps my water, no green water, no string algae, tests always perfect. I would never go back to "normal" filters.

I wrote up a simple how to make different bogs

https://www.gardenpondforum.com/topic/6894-bog-building/ see if that helps you

You could use whatever plants do well in florida and like wet feet.
