I was just very lucky to spot it. This nest was right on the edge of the walkway at the lodge we stayed at. I just happened to notice the hummingbird flying and was curious to what species it was. To my surprise she was flying right around the nest. This plant is only 3ft off the ground. if the chicks head did not move I may not even noticed it. Well hidden it was. I never would of thought a nest being that low to the ground.

I had some vines in Arizona, cats claw, climbing up the adobe wall. I would find their tiny nest quite often. I have photos of them.............somewhere. The nests are so tiny, it does take seeing the mom come in to spot them. Or pure luck!
I had at least 3 large feeders full at all times, there were a lot of hummingbirds, esp in the winter.

In the winter in Phoenix, AZ, not here in Maryland.
I lived in AZ for many years, before moving back to MD
