Hyacinth on the left came from the pond. The one on the right came from the top of the skippy style filter barrel... I cut off the bottom of the picture a little- there are more roots hanging down.
I think this is all from the goldfish nibbling the roots... I suppose there is more nutrient rich water coming out of the filter (assuming that there is actually bio-action going on in there ;-)... the only other difference is that the filter is totally PACKED with plants, which did force them to grow up taller.
