If i grown these in my pond this year when it gets cold outside could i bring them inside into a aquarium and keep them alive? or just replace them every year

most people treat them as annuals and chuck 'em..i was bring them inside to the basement pond this year but never got around to it...plus the added expense of running grow lights.

Not this winter, but last winter I left my water hyacinths in the pond until the tops started to rot from a freeze. Then I composted them. I even tried keeping one in my 55 Gallon Aquarium over the winter, but fish tropical fish ate most of the roots.
