I have baby fish! I think they’re from the Rosy Reds. I had some plump heifers last week. I get back in town and I come home to babies!

Adorable! I loved when my red rosies were breeding like crazy. It was a joyful sight! And having so many of them at different ages was very rewarding.

Ok, now that the excitement has worn off a little, the need for a possible intervention has become apparent. I may need to somehow limit the fry population. I have red rosie minnows, mosquito fish, and 4 fantail goldfish. Is there a fry-eater I can introduce to keep the population from exploding? Or something I can do?

LOL, I feel your pain! To the best of my knowledge, there are no fry-eating predators.....that wouldn’t also eat the adult fish. If you can’t find anyone to take the babies, but if you can catch them (and rosy reds are hard to catch ), you could always euthanize them with some clove oil. It’s painful for the human, but painless for the fish.
