My early morning thunderstorm woke me up, at 3 am, then after that I slept so hard I was almost late for work. Took the truck to work, almost got stuck. Looks like I’ll be taking the truck tomorrow too, cause yeah, more rain tonight. I need to roll my pants up and go check my fish and plants.

We just had a t-storm slam through, rained at a rate of 4 inches a hour, ended up with just 1/4 of an inch but it came down hard.

What a beautiful place you have! :)
Sarah's side of the backyard is of the English Garden style......of course when I have a little extra somehow it finds its way to her side......the front yard and the areas outside the fence are all her style......but I have one area around the pond that is my "Little Haiti".....through a mission for our church, Since 1999 I have been to Haiti 22 times Sarah has been twice.....and I love it there and and was always tried to have my own little tropical paradise in the backyard....... Lots of work but we enjoy it......Jimmy

I love all your flowers @Jimmy Gibson , you guys must spend a lot of time tending the garden. I'm neglecting my flowerbeds this year to build the new pond, and the chipmunk have taken advantage of my absence, they are making a mess of things....they killed several of my Dahlias, mixed the mulch with the soil and burrowed everywhere...maybe next year I'll have more time to pull weeds and make it look nicer.

I see your yellow Canna Lily looks nice and healthy, is it the only Canna you have?
Cannas are my favorite flowering plant! :)

oh no. We have a huge amount of canna's.....the ones you see are in the pond.....bare root.....,they grow like crazy and spread.......but I pull them all out in the fall......and put them in the ground.....dig up new ones in the spring for the pond...... What you might be thinking about is our yellow Day Lilies......those are what we call Aunt Lena......Sarah's Aunt gave that to us when we first married 43 years ago......we have dug it up each time we moved.....there is no telling how much we have given away over the years......just from family it has spread out over seven states......lol Jimmy

Love your gardens and admire your mission work in Haiti. How is the pond doing this summer? Have you purchased any new fish?

Doing good so far.......since my fiasco last fall......I have imposed a 10 fish limit on the pond......I think they spawned once but haven't seen any fry yet.......
