Hi, I joined last year, and the support and advice here was invaluable! We deepened our pond, changing it from a failed nature pond, completely full of boulders and string algae into a deeper pond, we saved loads of critters and plants, and we are now planting some new stuff in... The algae is manageable because the pond is clearer. Although right now we have millions of tadpoles, so can't clean it out much.

Plants we have added:
Phragmites australis
Carex acutiformis
Groenlandia densa
Salvinia natans
1 water lettuce!

Regarding the last 2, they float, and the breeze dumps them around the edge, could I use a hula-hoop or a bike inner tube to group them together a bit?

Will get some decent pics and post soon....

In the meantime, I just wanted to say thanks for last year, and sorry, I have been dealing with being pregnant for the first time, so less work on the pond, and more sitting enjoying the weather!! And dreaming of being a hippopotamus!

Trying to run a small newt hospital here... so if you have advice, please do share! Being a dumb novice means I am flailing a bit! https://www.gardenpondforum.com/threads/unwell-newt-possibly-bitten.14479/

Take Care!
Becky
