Intake

I need advice on these two filters, should I repair and use the one with the bottom intake or keep the one I'm using with the top intake? I'm using one with a top intake on my metal tank and it's working great

I really don't know if one is better then the other. My filter draws from the bottom, flows through media and flows back into the pond. I clean the media by using a blower.

I would go with a top intake. The water settles and takes the dirt with it. With the intake on the bottom, you are pushing the water and gravity wants to fight you.
