Hi All,
I have a bucket that I keep some water lily tubers in that I got from someone else's pond. I kind of forgot about the bucket for some time (over a year). Today I rediscovered the bucket, and it has duckweed growing all over the top.

I was thinking of putting some of it in the pond for fish food.

Is this a mistake; a) because it will be invasive and take over the pond, or b) there might be some parasites or other nastiness in the water bucket. The bucket has not had any fish in it for over a year, but there have been tadpoles and frogs in it.

I'm always very cautious about adding things to my pond from out side.

Any thoughts.
Thanks

P.S. It's a 1500 gallon pond with 7 , eight inch, Shubunkins.

The only duckweed that survives in my pond is in the protected spots behind the plants where the fish can't find it. Otherwise it's like a salad bar!

@Lisak1 is that so, I've always taken great pains to not have it in the pond .
M'mmm I might add some to our pond next year and give it a go (y) ;)
