The tub comes from lowes, it is 65gl, (obviously less since I don't fill to the top) I rinced it out and added a Fluval U4 submersible filter, and a Tetra Wisper 75-100 aerator. It will have a net cover, and I might add water Hyacinth if I learn that they're ok with just the basement fluorescent light.

The pressure of the water is really bending the tub out of shape, should I be concerned?

There are holes on the top where I tied the zippy ties, what if I tie a rope from front to back to keep it in shape?

Mine is all black, I'm hoping it is sturdier than the one you used! Did yours crack because you tried to hold in in shape?
I wonder if I should just leave it alone instead of tie it to hold it's shape

It was just used as a filter and the bottom cracked and mine had a yellow snap on top and was not cheap .I had to change it out for a round tank and then bought the tuff stuff tanks at tractor supply and then rural king opened and I bought an extra one because it was only 29.99

It looks like the pond is resting against a wall so a couple of sand bags in the front should do the job. I would wait until spring if you don't already have the water hyacinth. But to answer your question, yes, you can float it in the pond now and it will do fine given enough light. Rinse them off well in treated water otherwise they will shed all sorts of dead plant material and foul the water. Better yet, put them in their own tub of water under the light.

Not very encouraging @sissy, do you think it would last at least a few weeks?

View attachment 118981No seriously, the tape you could wrap around it tight and help keep it in shape.
I was going to tie it to hold shape but now I'm thinking that would increase the chance of caking
It is not that bad out of shape because I didn't fill it to the top, just a bit at the top, I'm hoping it could go on for a few weeks so I can grow the babies a bit before putting them in the pond....I'd hate to spend more money on this for just a few weeks

If you can buy another one you can put one inside the other one .If the handles cause a probel ,i just cut the handles off the one going inside the other tote and if no handles but a space in the bottom .I would put sand between the the 2 totes in the bottom .But a tote in a tote is the best
