I've 4 goldfishes/shubunkins in this 2000 liter pond and 1 molly also which I don't count.
Now the thing is that I've tested the water and results are ZERO for all ammonia, nitrite and nitrate.
Here I think the zero nitrate is the reason why my submerged plants and lettuce not doing well.
Is it because of the less number of fishes? Do I need to bring more fishes?

However the taro and canna in bog are doing quite well.

One more thing, here we have water of pH 8, is that okay for goldies/shubunkins?

ph of 8 is fine, as long as it is stable.

My pond took a while to balance out where the number of fish made the lilies etc happy. I would just be patient. You can add more fish if you wish, just remember they will make babies.

Yeah its stable, thats great if its fine for them.

And hey I don't have that much plants except vallisneria where babies can hide easily. Other plants don't thrive there.
I plant them in there and soon their leaves turns smaller and smaller and then disappear.

For Taros they do well in bog than on the pond edges

Those Taro's in the bog are up over my head the leaves around 2 foot long. I only planted them mid summer. A friend sent me some.

They took off this year, we have been hot and humid. Have enough fish, finally, to give them good fish fertilizer.

120 degrees! Wowzers!

Your plants definitely rely on the fish to fertilize, but you can help the process while you wait by fertilizing the plants. Just use a type of fertilizer where you can control the application, like a spike you can push into the plant near the roots for example.
