Sorry, I just couldn't resist! I've been reading some online articles and old forums regarding brown pond water, most probably due to TANNINS present in the water. Came across several posts where folks didn't call them "tannins," [as in NOUN - "I have 'tannins' in my pond water"], but said their pond was "TANNING" [used as a verb - "My pond has brown water 'cause it's "tanning."].

Of course, I envisioned my pond laid back with sunglasses & shady hat, sipping a lemonade -- and wondering if I should bring out the sunscreen!

haha, that is funny..maybe instead of sunglasses you can up the dosage of dye in the water for those who prefer a blue-green "tan"
