Anyone use this says it potable water safe hope it's fish safe. Want to use it externally on my bog for a small leak. The leak is about a pin prick or slight trickle.

According to the product's MSDS it is slightly toxic to aquatic organisms.

What material is the 'bog' constructed from?
100g stock tank and pvc plumbing.
It's a small leak on the out side. At one of my bulk heads to an out flow.

Agree with Meyer give it a shot. Some of those 2 part epoxy puttys won't adhere well to polyethylene, which is what the Rubbermaid stock tanks are made of. Usually will tell you on the side of the package.

My only additional advice is to turn off the water to the bog and wait until the leak stops, then mix and apply putty. Wet your fingers after you mix it and right before you are ready to apply it. Otherwise, it likes to stick to you more so, than what you are applying it on.

All those putties say they can be put on wet surfaces, underwater, etc. but not really. It may stick but won't usually stop leaks unless the surface is at least semi-dry.

So the toxic part should be null? I can do aquarium caulk but I need to lower water below plants for 3 days. Rather not

i wouldn't worry too much about the toxic part, unless they changed the materials recently. Reef keepers use that stuff in reef tanks to attach corals. If it doesn't have a negative effect in an environment like that I doubt it will externally on a pond.

I would turn it off for the 3hrs. Even though it sets and cures underwater as this is an outside not underwater application.

I just rather not turn off my main filter with plants for 3days for aquarium caulk.

I used that same product on a Stock tank I bought to use as a pond. It was a 750 gallon tank.

The feed store I bought it from speared it with a fork lift. I bought the tank for 50 bucks & used a tube of that water weld to patch the hole from the inside. That was several years ago & it has never leaked. Fish & plants have been fine.

I use a product called MARINE TEX
It is SUPER strong and safe when cured. It's everything that LB weld should be...But isn't.
