Made this tonight. Meant to be a black bear but looks a little more grizzly bear-like. Pretty happy with it though. All wood burned except the eyes were painted.

This sort of falls under arts and crafts.

I customized a Hot Wheels car for the first time. I recently bought this Buick Grand National because the paint scheme and body shape strongly resembles a dirt Street Stock, and since actual dirt street stock diecasts aren't really a thing, this was the best option available. But to make it even more similar to a street stock, I removed the windshield/rear window, added a window net, replaced the generic wheels with Hoosier tires, and painted some of the interior black to help mask the fact that it's a four seater and to just give it a better look in general. I'm pretty happy with the result. Every now and then I find a Hot Wheels racecar that's good enough to fit in with my officially licensed racecar diecasts.

Over the last two days I worked on making this pair of coasters. I usually plan out my projects thoroughly before I begin but in this case I knew I wanted trees and a snowman and I just sort of did it without any plan. It's been a long time since I've done any painting too so I was a bit rusty.

Very nice, wish I was a bit rusty as that!

I haven't been working on too much lately, but I had one main project I was working on as a surprise Christmas gift for my mom. I wasn't sure if I'd be able to do it, but I'd had the idea for most of the year and I thought I'd at least give it a try about a month ago. I spent hours doing it across several days, possibly the longest project I worked on. Once I got the face right, I knew it'd be a success and I continued on with the rest of it. I can't even draw faces with pencil, even with the ability to erase, so I can't believe I was able to burn one correctly on the first try.

It's my late grandma. I've gotten several requests in the family to make more but I honestly doubt I could ever replicate the result of this one. I really couldn't be much happier with how it turned out.

Another project I worked on this month.

Autumn barn scenes on coasters. The smiley faced barn is based on a local grocery store.

Just a small project for me in the future.

Hot Wheels made a car based on the old Fisher Price toy phone, so I bought one and I plan on turning it into an ornament for my mini Christmas tree. I'll just have to take it apart, drill a hole, and add a hook.
