Yesterday, I divided my water lilies. And re-potted them. Spent about an hour vacuuming the bottom of detritus. And another hour of pulling more plants from the bog. Went out today to find Giligan on the bottom, dead. I scooped him out and was way surprized at the size of that minnow. he was about 8" long and about 21/2" tall. Huge for a "crappie minnow" (bait fish). he was just fine yesterday. The gold fish are doing just fine. I've no clue as to what happened.

mabe not, after all they are not expected to live very long at all, being a bait fish. But he lived for about 3 years after I got him and 11 of his kin at the bait shop.

Which brings me to the question; How long should I quarantine some more minnows before introducing them to the pond?

I dont think any fish will make it in my pond without a dip for parasites in the quarantine time. I have only bought from the best and even then. if you do the dip for 10 days then watch them for a week I'd think your golden

Let's not mention quarantine. haha!

I have no clue. My solution is to never add new fish. I know - helpful, right?

So, about 10 days, with treatment for un-wanted parasites, and bacterial infections, the survivors get to go into the pond?

Pretty much what I was talkin' about. If it didn't survive, it wasn't healthy.

more concerned about parasites getting into the pond with the amount of water I have between the main pond, little pond, big bog, little bog, and stream. It would get pricey trying to treat that much water
