Years ago we were waking on a trail near the visitor center at the Everglades and about 5-10 feet away from the trail railing there was THE biggest alligator I have ever seen. We took our snapshot and moved on... Behind us we hear another visitor say "Oh look! They put out a fake alligator for the tourists!" Needless to say, we picked up our pace--I didn't want to hang around for the surprise nor the carnage.
