I'm in mid-Missouri, have a small backyard pond roughly 1000 gallons. I built it early this spring. I have a variety of Koi and Shubunkin. I have a pump that moves the water about 2 times an hour. A few small lilies as well as a few species of missouri water plants growing in the ponds gravel bottom ( on a liner of course). I'm working on an addition to this, that will add a second 1500 gallon area. I'm going to attempt to seam two lines, both identical PVC. Once I get my mess cleaned up a bit I'll post some photos of the project.

I also really enjoy seeing other's ponds and ideas.

welcome to the forum! I am sure you will enjoy it here, as there is lots to learn!

( I will let others lecture you about going epdm rather than pvc, and adding a bog and such :) )

Well that's good to hear. So I started wrong already? Lol. This is far from finished around the edges, but it's about 9 months old.

Hello and welcome! Looks nice! I wouldn’t add any more fish, though, as you are right at the tipping point for koi. They will grow fast!

nice pond! you didn't start "wrong" it is just that pvc liners may only last you for a couple of years, while epdm liners can last you for decades :). Up to you, but if you ever posted a question about your liner the first thing you would hear is ( and I have to agree with this ) the liner is one of the most important parts of a pond, so why cheap out on it.

ugh, I said I was gonna let others do the lecturing

I have another liner for a 1500 gallon add on. I'll have that in the ground and filled in the next couple days. We ha e some warm temps so I'm going to go for it before it gets cold here.

Welcome Kurt! Nice pond. Looks great. It is about time to bring those tropicals inside for the winter if you are in the Jeff City area. Weather next week is going to cool off. Glad to have you as a member!
