koi are loosing their color??

We curently have five koi-
calico, all gold, silver butterfly, orange and white butterfly, and black and orange
they are inside int eh office as we finish building the pond. I have the pond filters running in the tank so they will be cycled once the pond is ready but i took a look at them yesterday and they are all very dull!
i've been feeding them tetra spring/fall mix. once a day, only what they will divoure in a few minutes. i stopped and picked up the color vibrance food this morning hopeing it will help.
there is also live plants in teh tank for them to munch on.
anyone have any other ideas of why my koi are washing out??

Could be lack of sun exposure... but I am a major noobie so I could be wrong.

good guess nbic, sunlight definately enhances color,as lack of fades

Makes sence.. The pond will be ready next week so hopefully they'll be pretty again then

keep us posted after their out side and let us know if they gain their color back. I read a page that stated that if you put a gold fish in a dark room they will tun white so it might just be that. Try a color (good quality) enhancing formula food and give them some uva uvb (could just give them a bulb but it's kinda expensive).
