Koi strange actions.

Hi, does anyone know why my biggest Koi swims pointing down and another Koi comes up and gently pecks at it, mainly on the tail. Could it be some kind of courtship.
It is nearly always the same pair.

My guess is the fish is not doing well. Something is going on. Keep watching they usually tell us whats going on if we pay attention.

Look up koi fish spawning and see if it looks like that. If the front fish is always pointing down, that is not normal. But the chasing and poking the nose under the tail is normal for spawning, with occassional pointing down. This is how I know which are the male fish, the chasers.......
