Life in the pond UK

I finished my pond last April and it has some plants in it. I looked on Sunday and there was no life in it.
Is this normal? I did look at a local pond on Tuesday and in a few sweeps found nothing there, so maybe it is the time of year.

Any thoughts?

I’m half a world away, but if other ponds around aren’t showing life, chances are, you’re just suffering pond fever! Watch wild ponds, others around if there are any.

There is actually a lot of life in it.

Well I went to two ponds - one quite large and put my net in and found nothing.

Sadly that is the comparison pond - not mine which is 100% of the size!

Maybe there is life I just had a bad day looking.
