lilly pads wont bloom

hi all,

anyone run into lilly pads that do not send up flowers?

i have two containers of lillies in my pond, one container is yellow blooms and i get maybe one a week. they have been blooming for several weeks now.


the other container i have pink blooms, alot of pads but not one flower as of yet.

i use lagnua year long fertilizer spikes also.

I have a plant that sends the fewest up, but it does flower. Is there a difference in the depth of the pot? Amount of sun? etc

Some waterlilies are shy bloomers in hot summers, shy blooming can be, one plant is better established, faster growing, more vigorous and hogs the fertility

A couple years ago I bought a water lily from home depot. it was the first one i ever had so I was excited to see it bloom. Never did..

What waterlilies can do depends on the hybrid, what comes out of a box may be a Marliac from Europe which could be very techy about volatile American Summer heat, could have an abysmal bloom to pad ratio, might need deep cool water to bloom. Pot luck...
