This is my first year with a lily in my pond, and it seems to be doing very well. It's first bloom appeared last week, and it's pretty neat to see it open and close like it does. I did have a question about the maintenance of the plant. I have several pads that have gotten a little "rot" on them, and appear to be dying off. Are you supposed to prune these "dying" pads back, or leave them be?

Thanks.

Yup - like @tbendl said pretty much your call. Just be aware that anything you don't cut off and remove from the pond is going to decay in the pond. Not an issue unless you have a lot of decaying vegetation. I cut mine back just because I enjoy puttering around in the pond and I like to add them to my compost pile.
