Lily leaves being what looks like eaten. They are in a pond without any fish.

Any ideas?

The reason I ask is lily pads have a life cycle - mine last from 1 to 3 weeks and then they start to die off. The plant is constantly sending up new pads. The older ones will start to yellow and deteriorate. That maybe be what you're seeing here, if you still see nice new pads coming.

Lisak1, thank you for that information.

It makes total sense now.

This is my first full season with them and that would make sense.

I was just a bit concerned that these leaves are small, so we were thinking something was nibbling on them. ;)

Thank you again.

My pads always start out small. As the season goes along and things warm up, I get more full sized pads. But they do have a limited life span!

Do you prune the yellowing pads? Or let them do what they will do?
