Wet, cold, drizzling, windy but the tummy is empty. This hawk sat here for quite a while, after sitting by the pond for 15 minutes looking for a snack. It finally gave up and flew off.

I did see it do a dive attack a bit later, but missed!

Great pics! My wife likes to feed the birds, sometimes the birds won't come tho. Look around the tree tops and see a falcon or hawk, we have owls too. When they're out everything else stays away. Such amazing predators.

The birds were all over the feeders while the hawk sat on the fence and then the cherry tree. They ignore it until it flies, then they take off, scattering to the winds!
We have falcons that hang around, they do the surprise attack come in from the trees and then attempt to get dinner. Usually miss.

They are after the pigeons here at the horse farm next door. The pigeons never disappear completely but the #'s don't seem to multiply. I'm sure they get a bunny now and then too. We name them all Hawkeye whenever we see one sitting high up in a tree or power pole. It is a ritual to say the name each time one is spotted.

Hawks and owls are my favorite wildlife to spot. Nice pics!
