Val and I just go back from a hospital appointment the weather has been really clos here in Plymouth all day, about half an hour after getting home it started to rain .
We can hear faint rumbles of thunder in the distance so it looks like a night of heavy rain and thunder and lightening which could be in till the morning .
Fingers crossed we dont get hit (y)

You can't do anything about it tho. What's it doing? You must still have power on cuz you are still typing. You can hide till it's over if it's too bad

Clear and uncharacteristically cold here tonight, Think we're going down to 9*C tonight (good weather if you're an astronomer). Usually night time temps this time of year are 17* - 23*. Brrrrrr. BTW Dave, I love a good thunderstorm, and we usually have plenty through the summer months. This year, we've hardly had any. Where I live I can sit out on my patio and watch west / northwest at night and see the light show 2 or 3 hours before they get here. This year has been disappointing. :(

I had a nighmare once about being struck by lightening it was so realistic that I was seen to acctually arch in my bunk head to tail I've since took this as an omen and dont like to be out in thunderstorms .
In the nighmare I'd dropped my wallet in a park and had just stepped out to go and get it when I was struck, at that very moment someone in the lower hanger of the aircraft carrier I was then serving on dropped a large chain directly over where my bunk was situated bellow, ( I suppose I put the two and two together in my mind and the crash of the chain became the lightening strike ).
But ever since then I've made sure I was indoors and safe during thunderstorms
