Hey, watch what you say... Buzz Aldrin punched a guy out for doubting the landing!
50 years! I'm getting old. I remember it like yesterday.
Those were great times. It helped unite the country too.
It seems there were rockets launching constantly back then. And good ole' Walter Cronkite was always there as the announcer.

I also remember watching it and my dads disappointment in the lack of color on the moon. 50 years ago today my dad got our first color TV, so we could see the landing the next day in color. Makes me smile remembering his reaction to all of the shades of gray.

I just listened to a podcast about the moon landing and the man who did all the technical planning for the coverage from the moon and he was deeply disappointed by the low quality images on TV. Apparently he forgot to allow for the compression that had to take place for the feed to be broadcast.

Speaking of SpaceShipTwo, I had the unique opportunity to see SpaceShipOne and its carrier aircraft White Knight in person in 2005. I didn't really recognize the significance of it then, but it's become one of the memories that stands out most from all my visits to EAA Airventure.
