Hi everyone,

My first post! I was searching the archives here and haven't really found any good information about what I'm hoping to learn. I see lots of brands of surface aerators our there like Kasco Marine, Scott Aerator Co. And Otterbein. But beside warranty and price, I am having problems evaluating them on actual performance. Does anyone know what would be a good way to figure out which brands actually improve D.O. best? How deep they can turn water or somewhere way I could evaluate them against each other? I'm looking at surface display Aerators mostly like:

Kasco Marine VFX

Scott Aerator Co DA-20

If you have any other suggestions, I'm all ears!

Thanks!

Larger ponds. Our property has a 2.5 acre and a 1.75 acre pond. We have a really old sub-surfave system with 1 diffuser in each pond. So im looking to add some algae fighting power and keep the water from getting stagnet. In my part of the country stagnet water breeds bad smells and lots of mosquitoes. I also would like to plant some game fish in the ponds at some point.

Hold off on the game fish throw a slew of minnows in there and let them eat the larvea after a few years and a good population then add a couple game fish

You might have better luck with this question on a different forum that is geared toward big ponds.

Here's a link:

You're certainly welcome to hang out with us though and we'd love to see your ponds!
