Leaves are a bit curling and some black spots. Any idea what is going on with the plant?

Thanks!

Idk...mine have curly leaves, but no brown. Mine are blooming. I'm in zone 6b.
I thought they were pretty cold tolerant.
We're supposed to get some cold nights coming up, so I'll see if that affects the leaves.

yes, marsh marigolds are cool weather plants and will die back as the temps get too warm.

Thanks for the info.

Why are they selling them in California then? :cautious: Why would I stare at a dead plant for the next 6 months or more (as it gets hotter and hotter in the fall here)?
because people will buy it.

I should have read the label better ;)

Could be near freezing or frost hit the leaves. Could be excessive rains

@DerSchoeneBahnhof ours turns brown and basically disappears in the hotter temps too, but it's the first thing to emerge and bloom in the spring - sometimes when the ice is barely off the pond - so it's a welcome sight here. I

t's not unlike most perennials - they have their show-off period when they look great, and then they just kind of hang out or step into the background for the next one to take it's place in the spotlight.

They also might be too deep in water. I had some in 2" of water once and they died off. They do great in my bog, though. In the wild, I never see them in water. Just in the marsh edges. They also do better in a semi-shade situation in warmer weather.
