Meet Kenzie our new puppy

Here is Kenzie. She is a Nederlandse Kooikerhondje. We had to get her by plane. She is 9 1/2 weeks old.

Super adorable! How far did you have to travel and how did she handle it? (I ask because I flew twice this past summer with my son’s cat — my first time to fly with a pet in-cabin)

She did great, no accidents at all and slept on both flights. We had to go to Wisconsin to get her. We had 2 flights with 1 hour 10 minute layover. We played with her in the airport a bit which helped her sleep. We were nervous as we never flown with a pet before. Overall it was a great success.

She is cute. Yes we lost Abbey our Springer Spaniel. She went blind 2 years ago and have some other neurological issues so we had to make the hard call for quality of life. We still have Rylee who is 11 and doing well.

She is a Dutch breed used for duck tolling. They date back to the 16th century. They are rare still in the US. We wanted one for there size, like of water and ability to learn. This will be a new kayaking buddy.

Interesting….when I lived in Nova Scotia I was introduced to the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling dogs and found them to be a fascinating breed..good luck with her!

Totally unrelated…..but I found the pronunciation interesting: Koi-ker-hond-yuh. It has “koi” in it!
