I'm in the very early stages of planning. I'm debating building a new pond, but this time I would like a more modern looking design.

The issue I'm running into is I would like to have a waterfall similar to the one I have now with a short stream bed that makes a babbling brook water sound as the water flows through a 2' wide channel over a bed of 1"-3" diameter stones. We really love the sound that makes. I'm just not sure how to make that work with this modern design. Ideas are welcome. Pictured below is not my pond, but the one I'm using as a model.

Thank you!

It's the smaller river rocks in the middle that give off a lot of the babbling brook sound that we like. This setup works with the more natural pond, but I think it would look out of place with the above more modern design.

I think we could still use rocks like that in the falls/stream. I was thinking all black rocks around the same size. I'm just not sure how to channel the water through them that works with the more modern pond esthetic.

look at a water wall that i'm sure you have seen some where in the city or on tv a vertical wall with water silently sliding down a sheet of glass. change the angle to flow down a sheet flow but that has to bounce over rocks gently if it's to steep youll have lots of water loss.

Thank you for the reply. Do you have any idea pictures you could share to help with the visualization?
