Blue Jay

They hang together. One of the very few birds Blue Jays will tolerate
next to them on a branch is their Cardinal cousin. Blue Jays are bullies
in the bird word. Until a hawk makes a meal of one. I've never seen an
attack by a hawk on a Blue Jay, but I've found the murder fluff site when
filling up the bird feeders. Blue Jay feathers everywhere.

Notice that the aerator is only keeping the very center of the pond open

This year in February has been warmer than prior
years. I normally have safe ice for ice fishing on local lakes by December 1st.
This year it was Jan 1st before I felt it was safe enough to go.
Notice how much is open this year on our pond.

More of Wife's Art. It was done with pastels.
I thought the shadow in the printed pic would be a
problem. Not at all.

This is her most recent, and I really like this one.

How wonderful! Your wife is so talented!
I love all the wildlife pictures.
It is funny that you posted the pic of the cardinals and the blue jays! I noticed them hanging out in my yard just the other day - at least 8 blue jays and about 5 or 6 cardinals. I had no idea they would get along like that!

Not building but sure am working on mine and the yard. Every nice day pick a spot and go for it. Catching up on a year of ignoring all.

Huge dumpster coming tomorrow cut up hot tub on its way out. 5 friends coming to help. I have it for two weeks.

In case you're a newbie dumpster-renter as I was a few years ago (in Maryland), there can be an over-weight charge. In my case, we got a ton of rain and everything got soaked, it ended up being a sizeable added expense. The dumpster people told me, "tarp it over, next time."
