JW - My wife already has a big insecure one to deal with! :toothy12:

Blessedfamily - My original plan was to stock it with native fish (sunfish, perch, largemouth maybe) and let the kids fish. Then it dawned on me that hooks and liner aren't a good combination! Now I'm thinking koi are a better choice.

I need to get the biological filter figured out, then learn how the heck to test the water, then I'll start shopping. I'm also trying to find some water plants here locally and it seems no one has anything.

Taherrmann - I'm ordering it now, thanks!

Addy - I guess I'm looking for a small variety. I'd like a few bog plants to put in the gravel and maybe some lilies or little floaters. I (obviously) don't know much about plants. The main concern is winter as it gets pretty cold up here!

most of my stuff is zone 6-5, i could send you a selection of some of my plants, just pay for postage. Bog and pond. A priority box is 10.95 I think the medium size box. all except lilies, don't want to mess with them until they go dormant.

JayDogg, Welcome and outstanding introduction and pond build pics. it look like you have really done your homework before starting the pond. Re: fish, I recommend koi or goldfish because they have such great personalities and make ideal pets.

Addy - Perfect! Looks like I'm in Zone 5 (5B according to http://www.garden.org/zipzone/). Can you PM me with payment instructions?

If you go with koi, most of them will mess with any plants you put in your pond, goldfish tend to be more gentle with plants.
I will pm you info. I need to re-look at your bog info, to make sure what I send you will work with your setup. They will all be starts i.e. small plants, but there should be enough summer left to get them going great before winter hits.
