My fish are very active today in 45 degree water

It is overcast and a storm might be coming. They are more active and closer to the surface than I have seen in days. I did resist the urge to feed them. I see them eating algae off the walls.

They were going in the area by the aerator which I have not seen since they slowed down with the cold. I watched them swimming through the air stream for over 10 minutes. To me, it looked like they were playing and taking turns.

I can not figure out how to attach a 20 second video of them swimming through the aerator.

I have been periodically using my hose to blast leaves at the edges toward the center, so they can be more easily drawn into the intake bay. The fish go nuts and love it - foraging around in the stirred up stuff - in spite of the cold water! You have a lot of very pretty finny friends!
