hi all
great site you all have here have spent most of today reading post have found so much out and that i have been spending way to much on filter media lol.
my pond is 1100 gallons have a pump which will pump 12000 ltrs a hour
some of the media thats being used well i would never have thought it would work
any ways here are my 2 filters my pre filter has a few brushes in at the mo and is stopping a lot of the bigger stuff getting though.
now my 2nd filter has the 3 foam pads which i hate and under that its full of the little round black pipes.
it then flows though to a small amount of rock about 15kg of it
i realy want to get rid of the foam pads so any help or info would be great

i would ..its got to run into the other two first and if you clean out your water say once a week with your drain it should be cleaner by the time it gets to the foams, they also work better if they are cloged up a bit, i guess you know you only wash them out in pond water also if you can fit a couple of more brushes in that other one that would help ..this is only an idea :0)
