My koi are getting big and stay healthy and love to eat this summer!

My problem is simple, do I need barley straw to clear up all the poop or is the UV sterilizer suppose to do that? My pond is 1500 gal. and 15 years old! Thanks for all I learn from this site!

Poop I thought that was a filters job all a UV/C does is clarify water as does brarley straw

Probably need more filtration, as they've grown bigger and so has their poop!!

Thsat is the main reason i did not put in a skimmer 2 filters are better than one .Both are crates First 2 pics are crate in my waterfall filter and last pic is just a crate inside the liner that water runs into it and through filter media and lava rock and out the crate and back into the pond .They both pick up a lot of waste

Thanks everyone, I will add more filter pads to the skimmer box, the old ones wore out and I didn't replace them!
