I am a very new to the pond experience but I am trying...........

The water level is very low because I have been draining slowing for a water change.

I am hoping to build a skippy filter behind my little water fall and add a new UV.

Suggestions appreciated.

looking good...i see youve got a pressure filter buried there ...it will make your stocktank skippy an easy plumb....if you build your filter like i show in my thread(s) you'll just have to take the hose from your pressure filter to current falls, disconnect it from the falls and fasten it to the input hose nipple on the down pipe.

it looks like your pressure filter is remotely located, might i suggest putting some larger diameter, maybe 2" hard pipe in where your hoses are buried and run your hoses thru them. it will protect them from getting squashed and/or crimped by getting stepped on...if they run in or near traffic areas. if there is a problem pull it out fix or replace and push back thru.

question - are you keep the pressure filter and add a skippy filter?

My plan was to totally get rid of the pressure filter. Help?

you could do that (get rid of pres filter) but if it can catch the crud before hitting the skippy and keep your media cleaner and just over all aid in pond cleanliness why get rid of it?, its paid for and already in line, and its backflushable, right? so easy cleaning. you mentioned that you will be purchacing a weir from me so i assume your filter is going at ponds edge. so if it were me i would keep the press filter and just undo the current falls place the new filter there and pile some dirt and stone around it as i did.
