Hello
I am making my lower pond bigger and deeper for my koi.
I have already removed the old pond and dug and filled the new pond.

Pump ? I have always wondered (And have done some research never really found a anwser)
I know they always talk about list when it comes to water flow, My pumps are rated for what I have planed.
But my qurry is this
Is it easier/better for the pump to pull then push.

What I am wondering if it is better for the pump to be attached closer to the skimmer/pre filter or farther away and limiting the pump lift.

I hope I am making some sence some time I tend to over think things

Thanks
Ruben

Yes that is kinda my thinking
But hooked them up both ways and saw no real diffrence as far as flow is concerned.
Then have 3 pumps by the Skimmer was going to be hard to hide so I split the diffrence and put them under the water fall.

Thank you for your help

Got the water cascade setup and the filter moved and set up and even got the lights in.
Going to let it cycle with the top pond for a few days and then add fish hide away and a few plants.
then a day or two later if all is well add a few fish back in.

Again thanks

Shalom - Always best to have the inlet of the pump as close to the water as possible - Mr. Gravity limits the suction lift capability - around 17' under ideal conditions - depending on the type pump and it's hp you can push the water to wherever

Hello All
? Do's any one knoe if the outside Plastic tables are fish safe for the pond.
I have one that is about 4' X 4' and was thinking I could cut the lakes down and modify it for a fish hide away and plant holder with rocks on top.
Just wondering if these things would breack down unleashing toxtics if anyone knows or have used this type of product in there pond.

Thanks
Ruben M.

Today got a liitle more done.
Got some plants in
got some border rock around in
got some fish in just a few as they where in a premolded pond with a small filter and I was getting a little worried.
So my water test where all good and I will be home for the next couple of days to watch and test.
And do more work.

So as darkness falls here we are.

Very nice! You are doing a great job.

A plastic table would probably be fine in your pond, as long as it has no paint on it. They are pretty inert.

Looking great, Ruben! At first I was worried about the formed stones on the top edge, wondering if they are concrete and in the edge of the water, but the last pic shows that they are above the water line. I think concrete is supposed to stay out of our ponds, as it leeches some chemical to the water that is not good. Love the look of the outer edge, though, and imagine your fish are very happy to be back in larger home.

Hello
And Thank you
Checked on fish a few times threw the night and they are doing great will do a little feeding and see if they eat.

The Cement rocks around the border are more then 10 years old now, So they are really cured plus these do not have lime in them and I think that is the biggest concern with cement.

Ok a little more coffee and out to do a little more work.

I have a few ideas about this I want to surround it with Brick or stone (Some kinda or wall) and do some dirt and do some planting around it for color.

Here are a few more pics of what I have going and done.
