After the disaster I had in spring 2020 I’m happy to say I let pond stay fish free for almost a year. Grew many snails during that time and added more plants and more filtration. Also developed good shade system so plants get about 4 hours of direct sun over the whole day. Water quality is perfect so finally added three fish about a month ago. They are doing well. Two fantail shubunkins whose tails are actually not fans and a sarrassa comet. Thanks to @CometKeith and others who provided constructive ideas last year.

Thanks Addy. Keeping it simple. The two fan tails that have no fans are funny. They were actually rescues as the local fish store was going to “get rid” of them since they were defective. Well they are beautiful to me.

The front fish is Two Face, but you can see their single tails. And I’m happy to report my water poppies are starting to bloom. Can’t wait for the Lillys to bloom. Even my Iris bloomed for the first time in five years.
