Thanks. I'm not really sure how many gallons, but it's about six feet from waterfall to opposite edge and 5 feet perpendicular to that. Under the water fall and about two feet out, it's about two feet deep. The first step is about 1&1/2 wide and the same deep and the last step, it's about a foot wide and eight to ten inches deep.

If you use the pond volume formula 6*5*2*6.25=375 Gal. !!

With the 4 Koi shown in your photo, you are maxed out. One koi for every 100 gallons is a good rule of thumb. Any more, and you better have a good water managment plan.

A lot of people actually use the 1 koi for 250 or 500 gallons, so yes 375 gallons is too small for koi really. It's a beautiful pond, I would stock it with some goldies instead.

I agree for those who don't maintain the quality of their water. I have had ponds for 40 years and 1 to 100 works fine if you know what you are doing.

375 is small and difficult to maintain the water quality in.
