Whilst cleaning my pond today I found this little fella.

Can any one tell me what it is?

I have tried to use websites with identification images but the closet is mosquito larvae (but this has legs) or great diving bettle.

It appears to have pincers at both ends.

Hope this photo helps larvae.jpg

Oh no not the dreaded killer of baby fishy's.....................The Dragonfly nymph. Did any of you watch that video that HTH posted that showed one devouring a poor little fish? Such a creature turns into the beautiful dragonflies that we all love!

Oh and by the way rsmith77

I kind of like bugs and have been musing.. We have so many dragon flies and praying mantis in our yard that I have been thinking about rearing and selling them. Or give them away with the purchase of a aquatic plant.

I have found around 15 praying mantis nests, I look for them while grooming plants, take the item they are on and tie it to a different plant. I like any bug eating bug, we had very few flies, no mosquitoes except one that I saw, very few gnats.

Even the stink bugs are decreasing, saw a mantis eating one.
